I swear flashcards saved my grades more than once, but I keep jumping between apps because every “free” one turns into a subscription after a week.
Tried Anki (great algorithm, but looks like it’s from 2005), and Quizlet is okay but half the useful features are locked behind premium now.
What I’m really looking for:
something actually usable for free
easy to create cards quickly (from notes or PDFs would be amazing)
simple interface so I’m not fighting the app instead of studying
Right now the closest things I’ve found are tools that auto-generate flashcards from notes or PDFs, which saves a ton of time compared to writing them manually. Some newer platforms even use AI to create flashcards instantly from lecture notes or websites.
Same question. I’m interested in a truly free flashcard maker (or how to use flashcard maker free), because everything I’ve found either has limited capabilities or becomes complicated while also requiring a subscription pretty quickly.
Right now I’m testing a few options:
Quizlet - still usable for basic flashcards and has a huge library of study sets.
Cram - simple site where you can create and share flashcards for free.
Zorbi / similar tools - modern interface and easier to use than old-school apps like Anki.
Honestly, I’m just looking for something simple, free, and fast to make cards without constant paywalls. If anyone found a good one, please share.
If you’re looking for a flashcard maker free long-term, I’ve been sticking with Cram.com. It’s totally free, lets you make unlimited decks, and you can even share them with friends.
I create flashcards by topic: for example, “verbs of motion,” “irregular verbs,” or “words related to travel.” This allows me to quickly review material before
Anki and Quizlet are both great free options for flashcards with spaced repetition. Slightly off-topic, but I used Namecheap’s School Logo Maker for our study group branding
I’ve been using Anki for a while and it’s honestly the best free one I found. It looks kinda old-school, but the spaced repetition actually works and you can make huge decks without hitting limits. Plus there are tons of shared decks online so sometimes you don’t even need to make your own
I’ve been using Anki for a while. Looks kinda old but it’s actually really good because of the spaced repetition - cards come back right when you’re about to forget them.
If you want something closer to Quizlet, Knowt is also decent and free. But yeah, Anki worked best for me when I had to grind for exams.
