Quick question that’s been on my mind - what’s the actual average GPA in US high schools?
And what is your average GPA?
I keep seeing people talk about 3.7-4.0 like it’s normal, but that doesn’t feel realistic. From what I’ve found, the average GPA is closer to 3.0 (B average).
So now I’m wondering:
is 3.0 actually the baseline, and everything above that is already “good”?
People online make it look like everyone has a 3.8+, but that’s just not true.
From what I’ve seen, the average GPA in the US is around ~3.0, and most people I know are somewhere in the 2.7–3.3 range. The 3.5+ crowd exists, but it’s way smaller than it looks online.
Also depends a lot on the school and classes. A 3.4 at a hard school can be stronger than a 3.8 at an easier one.
So if you’re around 3.0, you’re literally average. Above that, you’re already doing pretty solid.
Honestly, people online make it look way higher than it is.
The average GPA in the US is around ~3.0, basically a B student
So if you’re around that range, you’re literally average, not “behind”.
From what I’ve seen, most people are somewhere like 2.7-3.3, and only a smaller group is 3.5+
if you’re bro above 3.3, youre already doing better than most
