. Not a budget one - something reliable for work, side projects, or grad school. That’s the one gift I wish someone had invested in for me
Personally I wasn’t super into the typical gifts like pens or plaques. What I actually appreciated was stuff that helped in real life after graduation.
One year my aunt got me a nice backpack + noise-canceling headphones, and I used both constantly during job applications and commuting. Practical > sentimental, at least in that phase. If it makes adult life slightly easier, it’s a win.
I’ve seen a lot of gifts, but these stood out way more than the usual stuff. Mixing useful + a bit creative worked best for both college graduation gifts for her and college graduation gifts for him.
For her:
A solo trip fund with a small plan. Not just money, but like “3 days in X city” already mapped out. Way more exciting than just cash.
